Swire Coca-Cola, USA Appoints Michele McKillip as Vice President of Public Relations, Government Affairs & Sustainability

Draper, Utah – February 24, 2020 – Swire Coca-Cola, USA has appointed Michele McKillip as Vice President of Public Relations, Government Affairs & Sustainability. McKillip will join Swire Coca-Cola, USA from Coca-Cola North America (CCNA), where for the past seven years she has served as Vice President of Public Affairs and Communications for the western United States. In total, McKillip has more than two decades of public affairs and communications experience, the majority of which has been gained within the Coca-Cola system.

“I am thrilled that Michele has joined the Swire family,” said Jack Pelo, President and CEO of Swire Coca-Cola, USA. “The knowledge that Michele brings from her past system experience will help us to continue to grow as a bottler. We look forward to working with Michele on continuing to enhance our efforts in areas that are critical to our business, such as sustainability and overall commitment to the communities we serve.”

Over the course of her career, McKillip has focused her efforts on government relations and issues management, stakeholder and community relations, and internal and external communications with great success. She started her Coca-Cola career in Florida with Coca-Cola Enterprises and continued moving within the system with roles increasing in responsibility, working in Atlanta, GA, Seattle, WA and most recently in Draper, UT. With her most recent role with CCNA, she worked closely with bottlers, serving as the liaison for bottler public relations and government affairs teams. McKillip’s appointment at Swire Coca-Cola, USA follows the departure of Scarlett Moss, who left Swire earlier this year to become chief marketing and communications officer and vice president for integrated communications at her alma mater, Southwestern University.

“It is an honor to join Swire Coca-Cola, a company with such a rich heritage,” said McKillip. “In this new role I’ll have the benefit of continuing to draw from the expertise of the talented professionals at CCNA, while leading the strong public relations and government affairs efforts and robust sustainability initiatives Swire has developed. I would like to pay tribute to my predecessor, Scarlett Moss, who helped build this strong team at Swire.”

McKillip assumes her duties on February 24. She will be based at Swire Coca-Cola, USA’s headquarters in Draper, UT.
